The holiday season and other special occasions should not be the only time we show to our members of the family how much we love and care for them. We all have busy lives, however must stop and take the time to cultivate the relationships that mean the most… which are those with our loved ones. The AFC’s Kansas City Chiefs have been playing professional football since 1963. IN actuality, the team was technically in existence three years prior to that, when it was known as the Dallas Texans, and – of course – located in Dallas. AS the Texans, the franchise was one of the founding members of the old AFL, and can now be found playing in the American Football Conference. No one would argue with the fact that the Chiefs’ past rosters included some of the true greats in football history. One of those great Kansas City players was Len Dawson, the Hall of Fame quarterback from Purdue University.

One of America’s finest city is San Diego that lives up to its nickname. The weather of San Diego gives it an advantage because the climate is not too hot and not too cold. Days are sunny in San Diego and it’s free from annoying earthquakes. Wonderful parks and unsullied wilderness and a huge variety of attractions are present in San Diego making it one of the most popular tourist destinations in America.

Fans in Jacksonville and Charlotte had something to cheer about when the NFL decided to expand its roster of teams for the 1995 season. Of course, there were no expectations on either the Jaguars or the Panthers when that first season got underway, since expansion franchises are not something that get built overnight. Indeed, the quest for talent, sound coaching, and fan support are things that often take years for any new team to achieve. A quarterback choice made by the Jaguars prior to the first season turned out to shorten their time frame for initial success considerably.

In 1997, Houston’s many football fans were suddenly left without a hometown team to cheer on for the first time since 1959. Their previous team, the Oilers, were taken by team owner Bud Adams to their new location in Tennessee (where they were renamed the Titans), and Houston fans faced the gloomy prospect of being without professional football for many years into the future. After all, the National Football League gave every indication clear that there were no expansion plans in the offing. Soon thereafter, however, the fateful decision was made to return pro football to the city of Cleveland, which would then be the thirty-first franchise in the NFL. The League’s preference for an even number of teams presented Houston with the opportunity to pursue a new franchise, which they subsequently won.

The Baltimore Ravens are, what many sports enthusiasts would call, infants in the NFL. The originated in Cleveland, and after much debate, Art Modell finally got his wish of moving them to Baltimore. They did not have their own stadium, at first, so they plated in Memorial Stadium, home of the Colts. It only took two years for their stadium to be ready; although, the name of the stadium changed numerous times over the next ten years (it took some time for the team to settle in).

Ravens starting safety Ed Reed is considering early retirement from the NFL.

For two years Reed has been suffering from a nerve impingement in his neck that has shown little to no improvement.

Coach John Harbaugh stated that he beleives Reed will return for the 2010 season.

Reed was picked by the Baltimore Ravens during the NFL draft in 2002. He currently holds franchise records for career interceptions (45) and interception-return yards in a single game (150) and has scored a total of 13 touchdowns in his career—3 blocked punts, 1 punt return, 2 fumble returns and 7 interception returns.

The Baltimore Ravens took a lot of bumps when it came to penalties being called and flags fell like rain in several games.

Ozzie Newsome was asked about the pass interference penalties that took place over the last season and how it seemed there were considerable inconsistancies in the calls.

The competition committee is the group who suggests rule changes for the NFL and the Ravens’ GM Ozzie Newsome has been a long standing member since 2000.
