Neftali Feliz

Neftali Feliz: Any player that can regularly pitch 100 mph fastballs has the chance to dominate in the majors. As long as his arm stays strong, he can easily do this.

Gordon Beckham. A true five-tooler in every sense of the world when it comes to baseball. From fielding, to hitting, to speed (which happens to be exceptional), Beckham has one of the brightest futures in major league baseball.

Justin Smoak – Man, this guy is a big bopper. He has power and he has a glove. I wouldn’t be surprised if he won a few home run derbys before it’s all said and done. He will be a huge impact player.

Chris Tillman: Another pitcher with incredible speed. Many have drawn comparisons to Jake Peavy. HIs strikeout count is always high, and batters fear his presence.

Jason Heyward – He has beastly power and had a very impressive batting practice at the futures game. He has a lot of power and he will really make an impact on the Braves.

Derek Holland – Great fastball, baffling curveball. Will be a very dominant starter and probably a Cy Young winner. That’s probably an understatement. His stuff is almost as nasty as Feliz (his teammate) – maybe better.

Austin Jackson: Another all-around player with everything you could ask for in a hitter and a fielder. This future Yankee will most definitely make his mark within a year or two.

Matt LaPorta. He made a brief appearance in Cleveland through May, but a low batting average sent him down to the minors. Either way, his power potential is huge, and many predict a career with 300+ home runs, if not more.

James McDonald. This 24 year old Dodgers pitching prospect is drawing comparisons to some of the biggest names in the game. Expect to see him suiting up as a Dodger shortly.

James Dobbins appreciates baseball for what it is today, but is always mindful of the emergence of the game’s prospects. He consistently makes contributions at RootZoo’s sports talk forum, and appreciates to be challenged with sports trivia questions whenever possible.
