Brett Farve Will He Soar With The Eagles?
Brett Farve Retirement Rumors Fly Again…

To retire or not to retire?
That is the question that continues year after year. It is asked, answered, decided on and then, just when we think Brett Farve has hung up his throwing arm, here he comes back out on the field.
Philadelphia sports commentator Howard Eskin of WIP radio tweeted rumors that the Eagles might be interested in Brett Farve as a back up to Michael Vick after Kevin Kolb is traded.
Just reported on TV Eagles have some interest in b farve once they trade kolb. Sources told me its possible. Not sure what farve thinks
Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane didn’t nix the possibility although he feels it is a long shot.
A team source told The Inquirer that bringing Favre to Philly was a “long shot” and that a “lot of things would need to fall into place” for it happen.
…
But there are a few reasons to think Favre may be willing to accept an offer from the Eagles. He has a close bond with Eagles head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg, having worked with both in Green Bay. And he may also want one last shot at winning a Super Bowl.
It might be possible that Farve would like to earn another ring, even if he did get it riding on the wings of super star Michael Vick.
Come on! Get real! The aging quarterback might make it as a 2nd string backup, but do you really think he will be satisfied to sit on the sidelines waiting for Michael Vick to get injured?
If Vick plays with the fervor he did last year, injuries are possible, even likely, but hopefully he will draw it back just a notch with the “do-it-all-himself” plays so he doesn’t risk injury quite as often.
In the case that Vick would sustain an injury, do you think Farve could carry the Eagles all the way through to the Super Bowl if the injury kept Vick out for more than a few weeks?
When Farve came out of retirement in 2009, to join the Minnesota Vikings, he had a phenomenal year. It was probably one of the best in his career, if not the best.
In 2010, again Farve came back out of retirement to rejoin the Vikings he was not quite able to live up to his previous year.
Let’s face it, the game is getting harder on the 41 year old quarterback and the hits are starting to hurt a lot more and take their toll on his aging body.
Don’t get me wrong, Farve is not by any means old if he were walking in the shoes of a man in an ordinary life, but in the hard hitting, fast paced game of football, age do matter.
On the realistic side, Kevin Kolb has not been traded and the Eagles were pleased with rookie Mike Kafka.
Fox Sports Jay Glazer puts the kibosh on the rumors when he tells that sources are emphatic that Farve will not be joining the Eagles.
Let’s end the uproar now, 2 Eagles sources tell me an emphatic No to Favre coming there to back up Michael Vick. Not the option they are on
More Farve rumors to come, I’m sure.
