Super Bowl XLV Travel Packages Aren’t The Only Thing To Enjoy In Arlington
Those who have already booked their Super Bowl XLV travel packages for the forthcoming game to be played in Arlington will be pleased to know that there are lots of great things to do in this exciting city. With a population of almost 400,000 it is the seventh biggest city in Texas, and the 49th biggest city in the USA. This article will highlight five of the greatest visitor hotspots.
Six Flags Hurricane Harbor will amaze you. This huge theme park offers thrills and spills in the water like you can’t imagine. Mega Wedgie is the name of the latest addition. This is a water slide that is over 80 feet wide with a towering height of four stories. Experience the exciting sensation of zero gravity when you are sprayed with jets of water and launched down the slide at more than 20 miles an hour. Little children will enjoy the rides at the Hooks Lagoon section of the park.
If you are traveling with a large group of friends and family, you will thrive at the Randol Mill Family Aquatic Center. All age-groups are accommodated and there are a host of interactive features. These include vortex pools, a current channel, an assortment of other pools, a water slide, and a shallow play area for little ones. There are designated barbecue and picnic sites.
Other facilities include two shady pavilions, deck furniture and showers. On Thursdays and Sundays the outdoor pools can be rented for private parties and family gatherings. This is an ideal option for you to have fun in your own exclusive pool. There are always lifeguards on patrol. If you wish to rent a pool, you must book 72 hours in advance.
No visit to Arlington is complete without catching Johnnie Hall’s Country Music Revue. This weekly variety show is held in the Arlington Music Hall. It all began in 1974 when songwriter, singer and musician, Johnnie High, bought an old cinema and transformed it into Arlington Music Hall which can seat 1200 people.
Ever since, the Saturday night shows have been sell-outs. They provide great Country and Western entertainment for 8 to 80 year-olds. The performers include eight singers, a group of back-up singers and a fantastic band of professional musicians. Every month, at least 20 new performers are introduced. Fans of country music from every corner of the globe regularly attend the shows.
The sport of tenpin bowling is undoubtedly one of America’s most loved pastimes. It has a fascinating history that spans 5,000 years. All this is highlighted at the International Bowling Museum and Hall of Fame. Here, you can view an awesome collection of memorabilia and learn how the sport originated in Ancient Egypt.
Last, but by no means least, all Super Bowl travel packages should include a tour of the incredible Cowboys Stadium. Home to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, it is the biggest domed stadium in the entire world. A highlight is the giant HD television screen which is affectionately known as ‘Jerry-Tron’. It was installed in 2009 and has a total area of 11,520 square feet, making it the biggest in the world.
