Wayne Larrivee is a very wise man.
He’s also proving to be prophetic.
The Voice of the Packers has told us more than once on Wisconsin’s Morning News that it’s not so much who a team has to play, but more a case of when you face them.
His sage words ring in my mind as I think back to the 2007 NFL season when the Packers played the Giants very early in the campaign at the Meadowlands. New York was a mess heading into the week two clash, having given up 45 points to the Cowboys in a season-opening loss. Green Bay would spank the Giants 35-13, scoring 21 unanswered points to leave New York 0-2 amid all sorts of Big Apple talk about firing a coach who apparently hadn’t gotten his team to buy into his system.

The former BYU standout threw for 232 yards and a pair of touchdown passes as the Ravens easily beat the Atlanta Falcons 20-3 at the Georgia Dome.

The Falcons starters behind QB Matt Ryan were almost flawless, and left the reserves with a 14-0 lead before eventually beating the St. Louis Rams 20-13 at the Edward Jones Dome on Friday night. Both teams are now 1-1 in NFL preseason action.
Running back Michael Turner was unstoppable in his limited playing time, churning out 65 yards in the Falcons opening drive. After the game, he confirmed that the Falcons offense had placed a priority on sound execution:
