That is the question that continues year after year. It is asked, answered, decided on and then, just when we think Brett Farve has hung up his throwing arm, here he comes back out on the field.
Philadelphia sports commentator Howard Eskin of WIP radio tweeted rumors that the Eagles might be interested in Brett Farve as a back up to Michael Vick after Kevin Kolb is traded.
The Baltimore Ravens are, what many sports enthusiasts would call, infants in the NFL. The originated in Cleveland, and after much debate, Art Modell finally got his wish of moving them to Baltimore. They did not have their own stadium, at first, so they plated in Memorial Stadium, home of the Colts. It only took two years for their stadium to be ready; although, the name of the stadium changed numerous times over the next ten years (it took some time for the team to settle in).
It seems that the blame for the Pats defensive letdown was enough for defensive coordinator Dean Pees to leave his post. The team announced just four days after the playoff loss to the Ravens that Pees is leaving after four seasons as the defensive coordinator.
Pees said he told team owner Robert Kraft and coach Bill Belichick that he would not seek a new contract after his current one expires at the end of January. “I enjoyed my time in New England, but feel this is the right time to pursue other opportunities,” Pees said in a statement issued by the club on Thursday.
Charlie Weis signed on with the Kansas City Chiefs as offensive coordinator. He’s come back to the NFL just about a month after being fired from Notre Dame.
Although Weis only had a so-so run with Notre Dame, his NFL record speaks for itself assisting in three Super Bowl victories with the New England Patriots.
Chiefs head coach Todd Haley used to take orders from Weis thirteen years ago, but now the tides have turned as Haley is the one who hired Weis.
Mike Shanahan is introduced as Washington Redskins Head Coach.

Mike Shanahan joins the Washington Redskins on Wednesday as head coach and executive vice president with five year contract, $35 million contract.
Shanahan had back to back Super Bowl wins after the 1997 and ’98 seasons and made the playoffs in 7 of his 14 seasons with the Denver Broncos, but was fired a year ago after Denver missed the playoffs for the third consecutive year.
“It’s been a good year off for me to sit back and really evaluate,” Shanahan said. “I’ve enjoyed watching more games and doing things that I’ve never done before, and at the same time, very anxious to get back.”
Mike Holmgren speaks about have plans to meet on Wednesday.

The theme of Mike Holmgren’s formal introduction as Browns president was all about change.
Fred Nance, the recently appointed team legal counsel who introduced the Super Bowl-winning coach, welcomed Holmgren “on behalf of all of us who kept the faith and knew that a better day was coming for the Cleveland Browns.”
Holmgren talked of being “invigorated” by his new career challenge and said to “expect some changes.” He talked of setting aside egos and getting everyone on the same page to get on “with the job of winning.”
Kobe Bryant hit yet another buzzer-beating three-pointer and finished with 39 points as the defending NBA champions overcame a 20-point deficit to beat the Sacramento Kings 109-108 on Friday night.
Omri Casspi had another solid game, scoring 23 points (shooting 8 for 13, and 3 for 4 from three-point range) in 41 minutes on the floor. He also had three assists and a steal. Spencer Hawes had a career-high 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds and Lamar Odom had a season-high 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the NBA-leading Lakers.
Sources tell Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com that there is a belief in some circles that Mike Shanahan, rumored to have the Redskins head coaching job all but locked up, might be interested in the Texans head coaching position if current head coach Gark Kubiak gets fired.
Shanahan would be reunited with his son Kyle who is currently the Texans’ offensive coordinator while also working again with Texans G.M. Rick Smith who used to be part of his coaching staff while in Denver. The Texans have not come out and guaranteed Kubiak’s return and his status for next year is still very much in doubt.
It appears that the Redskins are moving quickly when it comes to finding a coach to replace the soon to be fired Jim Zorn. The Denver Post reports that former Broncos two-time Super Bowl winning coach Mike Shanahan is in talks with Washington about coming aboard for 2010.
The report comes out a day after the Redskins hired Bruce Allen, son of late Redskins Hall of Fame coach George Allen, after Vinny Cerrato abruptly resigned. For now Allen says that Zorn is still his coach. “Give us some time to see how our relationship develops,” Allen said.
