The rules for NFL End Zone Celebrations have gone too far.
NFL celebrations have been entertaining fans since 1965 when the New York Giants wide receiver Homer Jones made the first “spike” in the end zone.
The first end zone dance was performed by Houston Oilers wide receiver Billy “White Shoes” Johnson when began doing the “Funky Chicken” during his rookie year in 1974
Touchdown dances and celebrations have evolved over the years becoming more and more elaborate from the spikes to the dances. Many are choreographed and practiced to be executed with perfection.
The Vikings brought their “A” game today, but it looked like the Giants left theirs at home.
There didn’t seem to be any interest or effort from the New York Giants. There will probably be some major player changes soon to come, at least if they want more from their team there will be.
The Minnesota Vikings on the other hand played strong. Brett Farve was 25 of 31 for 316 yards and four touchdowns in Minnesota’s 44-7 win.
The New Orleans Saints are having a great year in spite of their first loss of the season to the Dallas Cowboys. The Cowboys came out strong right from the beginning, yet it looked as if the Saints would make their comeback, again, in the last few minutes. The Saints took their first loss of the season 13-1.

Even with their first loss of the season, the New Orleans Saints are having a great year. The Cowboys came out with a bang right from the start. It looked like the Saints might make their comeback, again, in the last few minutes, but the Saints took their first loss of the season 13-1.

During a play the ball is stripped away from Eli Manning’s hands and the Eagles recover. The Eagles take a knee, winning the game 45-38 and ending the Giants’ chances at the East crown, although the wild card is still in play.
Cole can be seen throwing fists at O’Hara and they were both flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.
The numbers don’t lie. The running game of the Denver Broncos is on the upswing in time for the stretch run.
The team ran for 136 yards against the New York Giants and a week ago amassed 245 yards on the ground against Kansas City’s defense.
“I think we are pleased with what we’ve done the last few weeks,” Denver coach Josh McDaniels said. “We’ve done it by showing improvement in a number of areas.”
That includes Denver’s output on short-yardage and goal line situations and a reduction to almost no negative plays when the Broncos are running.
Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid signed a three-year contract extension, four days before a showdown with the New York Giants with a possible postseason spot on the line.
Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed in a news release from the Eagles, who are 8-4 and tied for first place in the National Football Conference East with the Dallas Cowboys.
The extension, which keeps Reid with the National Football League franchise through 2013, comes a season after his team reached the NFC championship game, eliminating the top-seeded Giants in the first round.
The Philadelphia Eagles have extended the contract of head coach Andy Reid through the 2013 season.
Reid, also the club’s executive vice president of football operations, is in his 11th season as the team’s head coach. He is the second-longest tenured coach in the NFL, behind only Jeff Fisher, who has been with Tennessee for 16 years.
“In every way he is the epitome of what you are looking for in a coach, he’s got passion and all the qualities you look for in a leader,” said Philadelphia owner Jeffrey Lurie. “Andy has said before that he loves it here and wants to remain here, so we got something done since there was no point in waiting.”
Dallas Cowboys offensive tackle Flozell Adams’ personal foul against the New York Giants is being reviewed by the NFL, putting his availability for Sunday’s game against the San Diego Chargers in doubt.
Adams was flagged shortly before halftime of the 31-24 loss for pushing Giants defensive end Justin Tuck in the back.
The penalty was declined and the two sides went into the locker room without further incident.
“Any altercation of that nature is reviewed for discipline,” NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said in an e-mail to the Star-Telegram on Monday.
