Hail to the Chiefs! The Kansas City Chiefs! American football had its humble beginnings in the late 1900′s. The Kansas City chiefs have their origination in Texas. The team began in 1960 as the Dallas Texans until, just three years later, the owner, Lamar Hunt, moved the team to Kansas City and renamed them the Kansas City Chiefs. They then became the newest member of the American Football League (AFL). They earned their nickname “Chiefs” after the then mayor of Kansas City, Harold Bartle, who was an enthusiastic leader in the Boy Scouts of America with the nickname “Chief”.

Awarded each year to the winners of the Super Bowl, the Lombardi Trophy is the most coveted award in American football. The Super Bowl was known as the AFL-NFL World Championship Game in the early years of the event, until a merger between the American Football and National Football Leagues led to the renaming of the championship game in 1970. Likewise, in the first two championship games between the rival leagues, the Lombardi Trophy was inscribed with “World Professional Football Championship.”

A new, first of its kind disease has swept the nation, with origins in Canton, Ohio. This disease is spreading like wildfire, and the only thing officials know about it so far is that it’s some kind of fever.
The Surgeon General and the CDC have collaborated and named the disease “PigSkin Madness Fever Disease.” Symptoms include but are not limited to the painting of one’s face and body, huge crazy colored hair and the swelling of one hand to enormous proportions and resembling a giant number 1.

American football has grown an enormous worldwide fan base since the American Expert Football Association was formed in 1920, with the very first game being played on October 3rd of that year. From that day on the sport has grown to be what it’s today with a larger fan base in America than Baseball, and a fan base that follows each and every season of American Football avidly from each and every corner from the globe. The NFL was born out from the APFL two years later in 1922 and eventually became the Major League of American Football.

One of the largest guys in college sports a year ago, Terrence Cody, at 6 foot four inches tall & 350 pounds, has altered how colleges look at bigger players. A fantastic run stopper can make a world of difference for football clubs wanting to free up their linebackers.
I really believe that more and more we will see enormous men, obviously like Terrence Cody, arriving onto the scene in college football. A huge man at that overall size in the middle of the defense playing middle guard or nosetackle certainly a valuable tool.

The AFC’s Kansas City Chiefs have been playing professional football since 1963. IN actuality, the team was technically in existence three years prior to that, when it was known as the Dallas Texans, and – of course – located in Dallas. AS the Texans, the franchise was one of the founding members of the old AFL, and can now be found playing in the American Football Conference. No one would argue with the fact that the Chiefs’ past rosters included some of the true greats in football history. One of those great Kansas City players was Len Dawson, the Hall of Fame quarterback from Purdue University.

Fans in Jacksonville and Charlotte had something to cheer about when the NFL decided to expand its roster of teams for the 1995 season. Of course, there were no expectations on either the Jaguars or the Panthers when that first season got underway, since expansion franchises are not something that get built overnight. Indeed, the quest for talent, sound coaching, and fan support are things that often take years for any new team to achieve. A quarterback choice made by the Jaguars prior to the first season turned out to shorten their time frame for initial success considerably.

In 1997, Houston’s many football fans were suddenly left without a hometown team to cheer on for the first time since 1959. Their previous team, the Oilers, were taken by team owner Bud Adams to their new location in Tennessee (where they were renamed the Titans), and Houston fans faced the gloomy prospect of being without professional football for many years into the future. After all, the National Football League gave every indication clear that there were no expansion plans in the offing. Soon thereafter, however, the fateful decision was made to return pro football to the city of Cleveland, which would then be the thirty-first franchise in the NFL. The League’s preference for an even number of teams presented Houston with the opportunity to pursue a new franchise, which they subsequently won.
